Comments

Laurel Gand as a teen (in flashback). Teen Laurel doesn't appear to have had a code name. There's precedent: Princess Projectra and Dawnstar used their own names instead of code names, and I guess Mon-El was in the nature of a personal name. Blok probably wasn't his name, but we never knew what his people called him; similarly, Quislet's real name was unpronounceable. If Laurel had used a code name, I'd like to suggest that it might have been Tiger Rose. This would have made two Legionnaires with code names based on flowers: Shrinking Violet being the other one. While I'm at it, I'm going to call attention to those Legionnaires whose code names became de facto names/nicknames. "Jeckie" for Projectra doesn't quite fall into this category, since it was her real name; but Brainy, Cham, Dreamy, and Mon were common nicknames for Brainiac 5, Chameleon Boy, Dream Girl, and Mon-El. Shrinking Violet was a special case: nearly everyone called her Violet/Vi; I don't recall very many times that anyone called her "Salu." Cosmic Boy was occasionally called "Cos," but just as often "Rokk."
