At the end of the story, we're supposed to believe that Nym Belev and Yroa became a couple. She liked him better than Chavak—and who wouldn't, he's dreamy!

But we all know that Nym only had eyes for Jan, and was disappointed when the "comrade" he'd shared so many cold nights with on the march suddenly disappeared.

All kidding aside, I think the scenes of Brin carrying Jan are just as sweet as can be. The real trust and love between those two teammates is obvious.
