Bits of Legionnaire Business

  • First appearance and death of Eltro Gand.
  • Mon-El dies, is revived.

Get-a-Life Boy says

Some later Legion fans developed a theory that Eltro Gand's personality overwrote Mon-El's, and that from this issue forward, Mon-El was actually Eltro. If so, it's odd that Eltro—grief-stricken by Mon-El's death—wouldn't have said something.

Chronicler's Error?

  • Dream Girl's vision depicts Superboy carrying Mon-El's body while Karate Kid, DreamGirl, and Princess Projectra look on. That didn't happen.

Queering the LSH

Superboy sneaks into Mon-El's bedroom at night, thinking "Can't blow this one." (And why not?)

Eltro Gand, masquerading as Mon-El, catches him and explains to the others, "Superboy planned to kidnap me, and, in disguise, face my death. Right, hero?"

And Superboy's all, "Uh...yeah...sure. That's why I was sneaking into your bedroom. That's why I always sneak into your bedroom on Thursday nights. Definitely not for torrid Kryptonian-on-Daxamite mansex."
