Interregnum

Over the course of a century, the Duchy of Geled and the Escen Hegemony engaged in a cold war that caused the two societies to become mirror-image military dictatorships.

Georges Naiman, a General from Dovan, takes control of the Escen Heremony and establishes a military dictatorship.

Under the later Biegel Imperators, the Credixian Imperium was much readier to act as peacekeeper, sending expeditions to various incipient war zones and brokering a number of treaties.

The Escen-Geled Treaty of 7718 CE prohibited each from intrusions into the other's space.

By now, four of the Galaxy's major powers -- the Credixian Imperium, Sardinian League, Duchy of Geled, and Escen Hegemony --  have signed treaties with the Independent Traders and are participating in cross-cultural exchange.

About 7650 CE, the Adelhardts of Teleskany allied themselves with New Sardinia and Borshall through a series of diplomatic marriages. Working through the Independent Traders, Idara Adelhardt entered into an alliance with the Credixian Imperium, assuring peace and mutual co-operation between Credix and Teleskany/Borshall/New Sardinia.

In 7540 CE (5387 CI), disgusted with the Purchik Dynasty, the Credixian Reichstaag chose Josef Inngebauer as Imperator. Josef was the son of Stevn Inngebauer, an obscure Credixian Noble, and Meria Kerteza, heiress to the monarchial throne of Vetret. Josef's older brother reigned as King Denal of Vetret until 7540 CE; Josef I inherited the throne of Vetret and brought Vetret under the rule of the Imperium.

The continued expansion of the Metrinal Union was the only bright spot in the Galactic order of 7500 CE. In the Credixian Imperium, the Purchik Dynasty Imperators were worthless dilettantes, and the borders were under constant attack by hundreds of warring neighbors.
