Voxel

In virtual reality, the 3-dimensional equivalent of the pixel: the smallest visual element in a 3D display.

Virtua

One of the three major divisions of cyberspace, Virtua is intended as a one-to-one mapping of the physical world into cyberspace. Virtua is a kind of "enhanced reality."

Viracocha Station

One of seven major Stations in low orbit around Terra. These Stations declined in utility and population after fusion drive propulsion became commonplace in the 2050s CE, and were dealt a death blow by antigrav propulsion in the 2080s CE.

Sumeru and Viracocha, plainly technological siblings, are multi-spoked variations on the wheel.

Tyubu

Maglev trains running through geometrically-straight tunnels at over a thousand kilometers an hour; the primary long-distance transporation in Africa in the 2030s - 2050s.

The Hyperspace Jig

A popular song (and accompanying dance) from a pre-Pre-Millennial Broadway musical. The canonical version has over a hundred verses and takes an hour to finish.

The song begins:

It's amazing,
Space is folding,
Ways your mind can't
Comprehend.

But follow me, dear.
It's not much fruther.
I will help you--
Reach the end.

I have been there,
In that Space Warp,
Gaping
At the sky so big.
The stars would call to me
And their darkness would take me:

Let's dance the Hyperspace Jig!

First you face to the left;
Give a kick to the right;
Clap your hands, jump and spin
At the speed of light
Then when you face yourself
You will both flip your wig!

Let's dance the Hyperspace Jig!
Let's dance the Hyperspace Jig!

T'ien Hsien Station

One of seven major Stations in low orbit around Terra. These Stations declined in utility and population after fusion drive propulsion became commonplace in the 2050s CE, and were dealt a death blow by antigrav propulsion in the 2080s CE.

T'ien Hsien looms like the skyline of some great city, Hong Kong or Singapore adrift among the stars.

Swala

First fusion-drive spaceship, launched from Kuumba Station to Mars on 27 July 2042 CE.
