Mary Ellen (“Maura”) Scharadin, 77, of Bloomington, passed away Monday morning, February 22, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Bloomington.

Mary was born September 8, 1938 in Coplay, PA to Raymond R. and Marie B. (Schaeffer) Scharadin. She was a 1955 graduate of Coplay High School, received her Masters of Mathematics in 1978 from Carnegie Mellon Institute of Science in Pittsburg, PA, and attend the University of Illinois. Mary worked for a variety of financial state and Federal institutions before retiring and later she relocated to Bloomington, IN. 

She was a member of the International Costumer’s Guild, MENSA, SCA, AAAI, and DPMA. She loved her costuming, science fiction conventions, and an avid reader. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
