I went out on Tuesday to pick up prescriptions and visit the grocery store. People were being sensible and courteous, although some folks were standing too close to others. At the checkout counter there was a plexiglass shield to protect the cashiers, which I thought was a good idea. I managed to get everything on my shpppoing list, but there were lots of sections with many bare shelves.
We've been thinking about local businesses where we usually spend money, and how we can continue to do so. Yesterday we ordered food from Ocean, our fantastic local Chinese carryout restaurant. Having the food delivered wasn't as much fun as visiting the place—at least the driver was our favorite person, so we got the chance to exchange greetings (from six feet away).
If you haven't given consideration to supporting local businesses, please do.
