Non-writing news this week: We finally got tags for the Buick I inherited from my father. It's been a long, complicated path that's cost quite a bit...sometimes next steps had to wait until the next month's paycheck. All that's left now is getting the car running after sitting in one place for more than a year. With any luck, we'll have it on the road by next month.

- Some progress this week on my memoir and Hunt for the Dymalon Cygnet, the follow-up to Dance for the Ivory Madonna.
Winter is soup time. Ours starts with a vegetable juice stock, with lots of nice things thrown in—mixed veggies, taters, carrots, onions, spices, etc. Our rule is, "If you take some out, you have to throw something in." As days & weeks pass, the flavor evolves; no two servings ever taste the same. If you stop by, be sure to bring a vegetarian ingredient.
